
The Musée des Eaux de Vie – René de Miscault – in Lapoutroie celebrates its 40th Anniversary
Founded in 1986, the Musée des Eaux de Vie in Lapoutroie is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2026.
Located in a former 19th-century coaching inn, just 20 km from Colmar, the museum houses an exceptional collection dedicated to the history of distillation and spirits.
Featuring the collections of René de Miscault, the museum showcases stills, antique bottles, alcohol-measuring instruments, absinthe glasses and spoons, as well as a unique collection of 300 bottles from the 1950s and nearly 10,000 miniature bottles.
The museum welcomes around 35,000 visitors each year from all over the world. Ranked among Alsace’s major tourist attractions, it is recommended by the Routard Guide and the Michelin Green Guide, and holds the Tourisme & Handicap and Wine Tourism (Œnotourisme) labels.
